Where do i look for monies from a bank book that hasn't been updated in 7 years???

Some banks begin applying a service charge on dormant accounts after a certain length of time. Other jurisdictions require that money in dormant accounts be turned over to the state (which will return it if you can prove it's yours). Depending on how much money you're talking about, you might either hire a lawyer or do the research yourself. Good luck.
