I'm getting mixed messages... what does this mean?

because he is a teacher and you are a student, and it sounds like you may be a little young to get so attached to him and he don't want others to think that there is something going on between the two of you because if gossip starts to fly around that you and he are talking too much together others can get the wrong idea about the two of you and he could get fired or get into trouble. you know how it is in school!
