Navy Gunners Mate in Iraq?

I am going to be a US Navy Gunners Mate and i was wondering... if I deploy to Iraq what would i be doing? Would I be patrolling the base, maintaining all the guns and ammo, or would i be out there with the army and marines with gun in hand?
