If people say you are better than the other guy, then you still have a chance! Just let her go out with this guy (It's hard I know) but when her and this other guy are done, she'll come back to you and she has hinted around that she might come back because of what she said. She might ne under a lot of pressure over which guy she should take (you or other guy) but from what it sounds like, she will come back to you, it might take a little while, but she will come back.
